On April 17, the Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School and parent community came together to celebrate the success of the Senior PREP Team, who were crowned the OSBA Trillium Championship!
The Crusaders finished the season tied for first place in the Central Division of the OSBA Trillium League and entered the playoffs as the #3 seeded team.
In an exciting Championship Game they faced off against Tall Pines Academy, with Father Henry Carr taking a 20-2 lead and never looking back.
Father Henry Carr becomes the first and only Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) school to win the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) Trillium Championship, and it is also a first on the history of Father Henry Carr and Coach Melnik’s career. Father Henry Carr also becomes the first high school to win BOTH the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Championship and a Prep Championship.
The school-wide celebration included community guest speakers, MC’s and our students' parents/guardians. Nike, the official school and team sponsor also activity participated in the celebration by sponsoring the team with new championship track suits and shoes.
We are extremely proud of this accomplishment and how this celebration has brought the community together!
