Chalk art - Father Henry Carr Celebrates Pride Month Through “Community in Colour”

Today, the Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School community came together in a vibrant display of support through a Pride Month initiative titled “Community in Colour.”

Held outdoors during lunch, students were invited to express themselves creatively using sidewalk chalk by drawing colourful artwork and writing uplifting messages in celebration of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The event transformed school pavement into a bright and welcoming space filled with positivity!

Throughout the activity, students shared messages of kindness and affirmation, including phrases such as “You deserve sunshine,” “Jesus loves you,” and “Be yourself.” These words reflected the sense of belonging and care we cultivate at Father Henry Carr, further reminding members of the school community that they are seen and that they are supported.

As a Catholic school community, Father Henry Carr continues to be guided by the belief that every person is created in the image and likeness of God and is deserving of dignity, love, and respect. With events such as “Community in Colour”, we continue to help bring these values to life, all while contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.

Father Henry Carr is proud of the students and staff who took part in today’s initiative. A special thank you goes to Ms. Theophylactou for designing theof our display. We are also grateful for all those who helped make the school grounds a visible reminder that love will always win and that it will always have a place in our community!
