At Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School, diversity is our strength, culture is a source of pride, and every heritage has a story worth celebrating!
Throughout October, the Latin Club has brought the vibrant traditions, music, and cultural contributions of Latin and Hispanic communities to life through engaging activities that educate, inspire, and bring the school community together. From morning announcements highlighting influential figures in Latin and Hispanic communities to the lively sounds of Latin music, students have had many opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate.
Festivities have also included delicious cultural foods, a lively food market, interactive Kahoot trivia, Name That Song challenges, and a movie night that brought students together through shared experiences and cultural appreciation. Beyond the festivities, these initiatives encourage students to deepen their understanding of different cultures, recognize the contributions of diverse communities, and foster a stronger sense of belonging within the school.
At Father Henry Carr, these celebrations reflect our commitment to Catholic education and the formation of the whole person: spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. Guided by our motto, “Domine ut Videam” (“Lord, That I Might See”), we strive to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive community rooted in faith, respect, inclusion, and an appreciation for the diverse identities that enrich our school.
