On September 30, the Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School community came together to recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and to honour the victims of the residential school system. The school's Equity Team invited staff and students to wear orange T-shirts and to sign cardboard replicas of orange T-shirts with messages of support. Dozens of shoes were placed in front of the school chapel to recognize the thousands of missing Indigenous children who never returned home. Orange ribbons were hung on the fence in front of the school to show the surrounding community that "Every Child Does Matter." The day ended with a special prayer service over the PA system.
