Marshall McLuhan Guidance, ESL and Library staff hosted a Thanksgiving celebration for our International students to celebrate this tradition. As part of the event, International Students were reminded that they are an important part of the Marshall McLuhan family. Students were taught about the Thanksgiving's connection to harvest traditions and about the virtues of gratitude, togetherness and sharing which are cherished across cultures.
After a Thanksgiving prayer, students enjoyed a tasty meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables and homemade gravy. The meal ended with students having a choice of apple or pumpkin pies.
There was much communication and laughter around the tables of students. Students were introduced to each other and new friendships formed. All-in-all it was another opportunity to affirm this chapter in the lives of our International students and to build community which is at the heart of our faith and national identity.
