On April 28, Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School held our annual Street Retreat. The day was wet and dreary downtown, but the sun was definitely shining within all of us who participated. Our feet may be achy, but our hearts are alive with the lessons learned, taught by immersion in the reality of those who find themselves making their homes on the streets in and around Sherbourne and Dundas. Led by Teacher-Chaplain Mrs. Izzo, a team of sixty once again participated in a powerful day of reflection and action. We hit the streets, distributing the 300 care bags we assembled, each with a letter of encouragement written with such tenderness. It is our hope to continue such experiences, as the eyes of our hearts were opened in ways that just cannot happen in the confines of a classroom. What an impactful day that weaved together prayer, reflection, and action! Peer Ministry at its finest!
