Antonio P., a recent graduate of Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School, has been awarded the Governor General's Academic Medal after achieving the highest academic standing in his graduating class. Antonio graduated with a final overall average of 97.83%, earning the medal awarded to the graduating student with the highest academic average at the North York school.
Antonio also pursued entrepreneurship and leadership opportunities throughout high school, both in the classroom and in the community. In January 2025, he founded Hire a Teen, a North York-based, student-run business that connects local homeowners with teenagers seeking work in home services. The initiative aims to give young people opportunities to gain work experience while helping homeowners find local help.
Antonio also served as business development lead at Olive Tree Builds, where he gained experience working with businesses and professionals across the Greater Toronto Area. At Marshall McLuhan, he founded the school's Entrepreneurship and Leadership Club, which provided students with opportunities to explore business, innovation and leadership through workshops, mentorship and student-led initiatives. His community involvement has also included peer tutoring, leadership initiatives and youth advocacy. In 2026, Antonio was selected as incoming budget lead for the Toronto Youth Cabinet, where he will contribute to initiatives supporting young people across Toronto.
Antonio will begin a Bachelor of Business Administration at York University's Schulich School of Business this fall. He plans to continue pursuing entrepreneurship, leadership and community-focused initiatives.
