A group of students posing in front of an Easter presentation

Students from the Monsignor (Msgr) Fraser Annex English as a Second Language (ESL) and Fashion programs collaborated to create a meaningful and visually stunning Easter display that beautifully reflects themes of faith, creativity, renewal, hope, and new beginnings.

As many of our ESL students are experiencing their first Easter in Canada, they thoughtfully decorated Easter eggs to express what the season represents to them. Their work is inspired by the newness of spring—embracing growth, a renewed spirit, and the opportunity to cultivate positivity and hope. Through this process, students explored the universality of love as a pathway to learning, connection, and meaningful self-expression.

Their contributions are showcased within a symbolic “Garden of Inspiration,” where floral elements represent faith, new life, and transformation. This welcoming display greets members of our Annex community—including students, staff, guests, and visitors—as they enter the school, offering a message of inclusion, reflection, and celebration.

At the heart of this collaborative project is a shared understanding that all we do is rooted in love. From this foundation, students have created a vibrant arrangement of blooming florals, symbolic Easter eggs, and seasonal elements that together represent new life, new beginnings, and the beauty of growth.

Complementing this work, Fashion students designed a collection of designer-inspired Easter eggs, each thoughtfully crafted to reflect elements of luxury fashion houses while showcasing creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. These pieces are presented in embellished Easter baskets and paired with handbag-inspired vases, gold-accented floral arrangements, and pearl-adorned décor.

At the center of the display stands a beautifully painted cross, serving as a powerful reminder of the Easter season and its message of hope, renewal, and transformation.

Through this hands-on, interdisciplinary project, students explored fashion as a form of artistic expression while engaging with deeper themes of faith, identity, and celebration. The result is an elegant and inspiring showcase that reflects both the talent of our students and the spirit of the season.

We are incredibly proud of the creativity, collaboration, and thoughtful reflection demonstrated by our Annex students in bringing this meaningful project to life.
