Dress Code

Students are required to adhere to the TCDSB Appropriate Dress Code for Pupils policy. The school’s appropriate dress code consists of navy blue bottoms and a white or navy blue top. A navy blue sweater or sweatshirt may be worn on top during colder weather. Students are not permitted to wear jeans, leggings, jeggings, yoga pants, short shorts or spandex. Clothing cannot have logos larger than the size of a toonie.

When not wearing the Appropriate Dress Code (i.e. designated non-uniform days), students are expected to dress in a manner and attire suitable for the occasion and appropriate to a Catholic School environment. The following guidelines should be followed:

  • Clothing is to be free from offensive and questionable language and pictures

  • Clothing and accessories should not interfere with the child’s learning or the learning of others

  • Appropriate indoor and outdoor footwear must be worn at all times

  • Hats/caps are considered outdoor wear only

  • Halter tops, mesh shirts, tank tops, cut-off T-shirts, tops exposing midriff, spandex bicycle wear, short shorts and bandanas are inappropriate attire

  • Undergarments should not be exposed

All Elementary schools within the jurisdiction of the Board shall adopt an Appropriate Dress Code or Uniform Dress Code.

All Secondary schools within the jurisdiction of the Board shall adopt a Uniform Dress Code.

Parents are encouraged to review the local dress code at their child’s school and to direct their questions to the principal of the school.
