On display outside the school is a powerful collection of artwork created by our Grade 11 Visual Arts students, titled the "Tariffic" Art Project. This initiative focuses on promoting and identifying with Canadian patriotism and sovereignty through creative expression.
In light of Canada’s current political and economic challenges—including ongoing tensions with the United States—the project serves as a timely reminder of the importance of celebrating Canada’s unique identity, core values, and independence. Students were given the opportunity to reflect on and represent what makes Canada distinct: a proud, independent nation rooted in diversity and resilience.
Each student created artwork on a provided panel, combining elements of Canadian culture, history, nature, and national identity. Their goal was to craft dynamic and meaningful visuals that celebrate the richness of our country.
Project Objectives:
To explore and express Canada’s sovereignty, identity, and uniqueness as a nation.
To use art as a tool to spread a message of unity, independence, and pride in Canadian heritage.
To create impactful artwork that showcases the rich diversity of Canada.
The completed artworks are now proudly displayed along our school fence, sharing a collective message of unity, pride, and patriotism with the broader community. We encourage everyone to take a moment to view these inspiring pieces and reflect on what it means to be Canadian.
