St. Joseph's College School's Music Department welcomed special guest and international flautist Dr. Osvaldo Gomes dos Santos for an exciting day filled with fun flute activities. Flute students in Grades 9 through 12 had the opportunity to work closely on their fundamental skills with Dr. Gomes, focusing on embouchure and tone development, articulation, hand position, finger dexterity, intonation, musicianship, and special tricks of the trade pertaining to flute performance.

Dr. Gomes is currently a professor of flute at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, principal flute of the Australia Asia Culture Orchestra, and instructor at the Amadeus Music Program in Sydney, Australia.
