In recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our school community came together to create a meaningful project of reflection and awareness. Each student and staff member was invited to write words of healing, hope, and remembrance on an orange-painted clip. These clips, each adorned with an orange feather, were then displayed on our school fence as a powerful symbol of solidarity and remembrance.
The project serves as a reminder of the history and legacy of residential schools, while also spreading awareness about the importance of Truth and Reconciliation. As a living display, the initiative will continue to grow, with more clips being added and opportunities for the wider community to take part.
Through this project, our school hopes to honour survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and continue the journey toward healing and reconciliation.
