This Holy Thursday, the St. Joseph’s Morrow Park school community came together for a meaningful Liturgy of the Word, reflecting on the significance of the Last Supper and Jesus’ call to serve others with humility and love.
Following the prayer service, students across the school participated in a simple but powerful reflective activity. Each student responded to the message of Holy Thursday by writing on a sticky note, sharing a personal commitment to grow, serve others, or live out Christ’s example in their daily lives. These individual reflections were brought together to form a collective display, representing our shared journey toward Easter.
This year, the display was further enriched through a collaboration with the Visual Arts program. During the Lenten season, students explored how artists throughout history have used biblical stories to create powerful and meaningful works. They selected an artist, examined the biblical passage that inspired the artwork, and analyzed how the story was interpreted visually. Building on this learning, students then chose their own biblical passages and created original acrylic paintings that reflected their personal understanding and vision.
The final display brought together student reflections and original artwork, creating a powerful representation of faith in action. It highlighted not only the creativity and talent of our students, but also their ability to engage deeply with Scripture and express their faith in thoughtful and meaningful ways.
At St. Joseph’s Morrow Park, experiences like this reflect our commitment to nurturing both the spiritual and creative growth of our students, helping them connect what they learn in the classroom to how they live each day.
