St. Oscar Romero’s Chaplaincy Leadership Team led the Remembrance Day PA Service, uniting the entire school community in reflection upon the sacrifices made by veterans. The presentation included a focus on the Virtue of the Month, Peacemaking, and God’s call to each one to live as peacemakers in our school, families, and communities. In addition to Scripture passages, remembrances, and prayers, poetry written by young people living in regions of war was included for contemplation. The service culminated with the playing of the Last Post and a minute of silence to honour the courage of all those who have given their lives for the sake of peace.

Earlier in the day, student members of the Air Cadets stood proudly in uniform at the school’s front entrance, greeting staff and students as they arrived. This was a fitting way to start Remembrance Day and to bring attention to the solemn purpose of memorializing and honouring the fallen.
