St. Oscar Romero’s Student Chaplaincy Leadership Team traveled with 17 other Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) secondary students to Ottawa to represent our school and the TCDSB at the Youth Advocacy Symposium hosted by the Jesuits of Canada, Women at the Heart of Justice.

Romero seniors Kokob A., Christine H., and Julian M. attended this global-focused conference on our behalf, meeting with over 400 high school student leaders from across Canada to participate in social justice workshops. They listened to and learned from young activists from around the world, attended the Canadian Parliament, and met with the Speaker of the House.

They will share with their peers the knowledge they have gained, and as St. Oscar Romero leaders they will seek ways to continue to inspire us to stand for social justice here in our school, in our Board, and in our local communities. We give thanks to God for a safe, educational, and transforming experience.
