St. Oscar Romero Catholic Secondary School’s Grade 10 and 11 History students had the honour of welcoming Holocaust survivor Elly Gotz to speak about his experiences during the Holocaust. The presentation offered a unique and meaningful opportunity for the students to learn about the Holocaust from someone who lived through it. During the talk, Elly shared memories of life before the war, during the war, and the beautiful life he built after the war.
We are grateful at St. Oscar Romero to continually welcome Elly into our community to teach our students about resilience, empathy, and standing up for what is right. We are thankful to Elly for sharing his personal story and helping ensure that the lessons of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
