The St. Oscar Romero Catholic Secondary School community proudly congratulates Grade 12 student Xerlyn H. on being named one of only 10 students across Canada to receive the prestigious $10,000 York University Science Scholars Entrance Award.

In addition to her outstanding academic achievements, Xerlyn’s leadership, extracurricular involvement, and dedication to volunteerism over the past four years contributed to her selection for this distinguished award. As part of the scholarship, she will also have access to mentorship opportunities with York University’s Science faculty.

Xerlyn was also selected to participate in the highly competitive University of Toronto Summer Mentorship Medicine Program this past summer. Through the program, she explored health sciences education and careers through hands-on activities, experiments, lectures, and special projects.

St. Oscar Romero Catholic Secondary School and the broader school community proudly celebrate Xerlyn’s remarkable accomplishments and wish her continued success in her future studies.
