Students in the Grade 11 law class at St. Oscar Romero Catholic Secondary School recently participated in a civil mock trial focused on defamation and privacy. The activity provided an authentic courtroom experience and allowed students to develop valuable skills in legal reasoning, public speaking, critical thinking, collaboration, and civic engagement.
This initiative is a strong example of experiential learning and highlights the many opportunities available to students. By engaging in realistic legal scenarios, students were able to connect classroom learning to real-world issues, inspiring many to consider future studies and careers in law, public service, and related fields.
Under the guidance of their teacher, Ms. Feraco, students assumed the roles of lawyers, witnesses, jurors, and court officials, bringing the courtroom experience to life.
As seen in the photos below, students fully immersed themselves in the mock trial process, demonstrating confidence, professionalism, and a strong understanding of legal concepts. Congratulations to the St. Oscar Romero community on this engaging and meaningful learning experience.
