Application and Audition

Families are encouraged to review the following application and audition information mid-September 2023 for students interested in applying to Grades 7-12 for September 2024.

Application

All students seeking admission to Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts must successfully complete the audition process.

Students interested in applying for one art discipline need to apply online using the SOAR Secondary application and pay their $20.00 Audition fee.

Audition

Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts has an audition process in order to receive an offer of admission.

Students are required to audition in one of the following Arts programs:

  • Dance

  • Drama

  • Music (Band)

  • Music (Strings)

  • Music (Vocal)

  • Visual Arts - Digital Arts & Tech Design

Selection for admission is made based on a successful audition. Only one audition per applicant is granted, so please audition in your strongest area.

Audition Date - November 15, 2023 (Wednesday)

All candidates must attend Audition Day and be ready to actively participate in either a solo demonstration, workshop and an interview.

Admission Information

We are an Arts-focused school offering an integrated and enriched Arts program from Grades 7-12. Our admission entry years are primarily Grades 7 and 9. Although when we have any available spots, we do audition for other grades but this depends on space.

For admission in Grade 7, the applicant must also meet the Admissions requirements for elementary school children as outlined in the TCDSB’s Admission policy.

Our Admission cycle begins in Fall 2023. Please ensure you attend our Open House to receive all the relevant information for the application and audition process for admission to the 2023-2024 school year.
