Social Sciences

What’s Social Sciences? Why do we love to learn about them?

Social sciences is the group of academic disciplines that are dedicated to understanding human behaviour, specifically how people interact with each other, how they develop as a culture, and how we influence the world. At our school, geography, history, political science, anthropology, sociology, psychology, cultural studies, and business leadership are explored in our diverse social science programs.

With the Catholic Social Teachings in mind, our curriculum content supports the students’ journey towards completing the Catholic Graduate Expectations and deepening their lifelong partnership with God. We have the responsibility to participate in our society and to promote the common good; these teachings are supported by many of our units of study.

Some of the exciting ways we learn and grow in our classrooms include:

  • Project-based learning opportunities.

  • Technology integrated into coursework.

  • Connecting the past with the present.

  • Sharpening our understanding of ourselves and each other.

  • Growing our understanding of our physical world better.

  • Experiential learning events, such as field trips and workshops.

  • Expanding skill sets: geo-skills, academic research, leadership and more.
