St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy students shone at the 2025 Asian Canadian Heritage Month at Monsignor Percy Johnson, a celebration of the many ways in which Asian Canadians contribute and serve in our communities. With their performance of Mamang Sorbetero, our students brought to life a Filipino folk dance to a song performed by Celeste Legaspi.

Mamang Sorbetero, "Mr. Ice Cream Man" in English, nostalgically depicts the life of a street ice cream vendor in the Philippines. An iconic piece in Filipino music, it evokes a sense of nostalgia with memories of simpler times and traditional Filipino culture.

With appreciation to Dennis Hernandez, Education Assistant and choreographer, Lori Tayag, Teacher, and Joshua Lau, Teacher, for their support of our students, to our enthusiastic and talented students, and to the Asian Canadian Heritage Month planning committee for providing this vibrant celebration!
