Students from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy's Business, Travel & Tourism, and Health & Physical Education programs engaged in an exciting excursion to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre to watch the Scarborough Shooting Stars in action as part of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season.

This unique opportunity allowed students to experience a professional sporting event while making meaningful connections to their classroom learning. Business students explored the marketing, branding, and operational aspects of a live sports franchise. Travel & Tourism students examined venue logistics, event planning, and the role of sports tourism in local economies. Health & Physical Education students engaged with themes of athletic performance, teamwork, and community engagement in high-performance environments.

Beyond the action-packed game, this experience fostered school spirit, cross-curricular learning, and a greater appreciation for the role of sports in society. It was a memorable outing that highlighted the dynamic learning opportunities available beyond the classroom.

With appreciation to the staff of the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre and the Scarborough Shooting Stars for hosting our students and our dedicated Business Studies. Go Shooting Stars!
