On Wednesday, November 24, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy's Grade 12 Religion students put Catholic values into action with their 'Street Patrol' experience. The previous day, each student prepared three food packages consisting of a sandwich, drink, granola bar, and prayer card. On this day, the packages were distributed to those in need.
The day started with a brief visit to St. Michael’s Cathedral. Once all the packages were distributed, students had time to visit the greenhouses at Allan Gardens. Next, everyone attended the 12:10 PM Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes. Three students assisted as altar servers, and Father Mbugua of the Jesuit Order delivered the homily.
We extend our appreciation to all participating students, teacher supervisors Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. J. Stevenson, and to Mr. Gonzalez for his leadership in supporting this valuable opportunity for community service for our students.
