St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy's Grade 12 students hit the streets of downtown Toronto once again on Wednesday, December 3, to distribute 93 food packages to members of Toronto’s community who are in need. The Mavericks Street Patrol stopped at St. Michael’s Choir School, where students were fortunate enough to hear the choir rehearsing for an upcoming concert.
After distributing all of the packages outside homeless shelters along Sherbourne Street, students stopped to admire the plants, trees, and flowers at Allan Gardens. Next, it was time for Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish with the Jesuit Fathers, where four St. Joan of Arc students served as altar servers.
With appreciation to teachers Mr. Gonzalez and Ms. Gruppuso for supporting this experience and providing an opportunity for students that was both meaningful and memorable. SJOA students demonstrated compassion, practiced solidarity with those in need, and contributed to the common good.
Well done, Mavericks!
