On May 4, 2026, at the start of Catholic Education Week, 14 students from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy travelled to St. Francis Table in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood to serve approximately 80 members of the community.
Students took on a variety of roles throughout the day, including serving as waitstaff, assisting with dishwashing, plating meals, managing the coffee and tea station, and completing various tasks to support the centre’s operations. Their efforts helped ensure a welcoming and respectful dining experience for all guests.
Following the meal service, students gathered together to share a meal of their own, reflecting on a meaningful and impactful experience rooted in service and compassion.
