Guidance and Career Education

The Guidance and Career Education program plays a vital role in secondary school by equipping students with the skills they need to succeed in school, the workplace, and daily life. The curriculum emphasizes time management, resource use, and interpersonal skills to support student success now and in the future.

Courses actively engage students in research, inquiry, problem-solving, and decision-making related to post-secondary education, training, and career planning. The program recognizes each student’s unique strengths, abilities, and aspirations, providing lifelong skills and knowledge.

Program Goals

The curriculum aims to help students:

  • Understand concepts related to lifelong learning, relationships, and career planning.

  • Develop learning and social skills, a sense of responsibility, and clear educational and career goals.

  • Apply these skills in school, work, and community life.
