On March 31, 2026, Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) Hospitality and Tourism Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) students from St. John Henry Newman Catholic High School proudly catered the Sr. Evanne Hunter Awards Luncheon at the Catholic Education Centre.
Under the supervision of Chef Bravo, students refined their skills as they prepared and served a menu that included an assortment of sandwiches, hearty lasagnas, crisp mixed greens, and decadent chocolate brownies. This event provided a meaningful real-world experiential learning opportunity, allowing students to showcase their abilities in food preparation, event staging, plating, and professional customer service.
These experiences also give students the chance to make valuable connections between classroom learning and authentic industry practices, further strengthening their readiness for future opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sector.
