A collage of four group photos of Cardinal Carter students wearing pink and holding up anti-bullying banners

On February 28 (Wednesday), the students at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts recognized Pink Shirt Day by participating in many initiatives hosted by the Safe & Accepting Schools Team (SAST).

Carter students had the opportunity to share suggestions and ideas on how we as a community can prevent bullying via an online form, and to sign a pledge and commit to Bullying Prevention at Cardinal Carter. For example, Eva pledged “to say kind words to others, and to stand up for people who are being treated unfairly”.

Also, a photo booth was set up to capture students wearing pink while spreading kindness and positivity. In addition, Visual Arts students designed buttons to promote Pink Shirt Day which were distributed to students. Colouring and bracelet making stations all contributed to a fun filled lunch activity with positivity abound, all in support of Bullying Prevention and Awareness.

Together, the Carter Community can make a difference and stand up against bullying.

Special thanks to the teachers, staff and students of the Safe & Accepting Schools Team and Wellness Warriors!
