Students posing outside with garbage bags

On Monday April 22, 2024, students from Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts partnered with staff from the Catholic Education Centre (CEC) to spend 20 minutes cleaning up the area around the CEC and surrounding buildings.

This campaign was initiated by the Environmental Support Services Department to celebrate Earth Day 2024 at the CEC. The initiative was part of the much broader commitment from departments at the Board in recognizing the critical role that the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) plays in promoting environmental responsibility and in providing leadership and direction for the protection and conservation of the environment.

Both staff and students are aware that through these opportunities, they are actively participating in initiatives to learn about their ecological footprint and the ways they can reduce their impact on the planet. Once again, the TCDSB communities displayed a phenomenal participation rate in community cleanups and demonstrated our commitment to our community and the environment.

We thank everyone who joined in to participate. School communities can continue to stay involved by visiting the Environmental Support Services webpage for details on the many opportunities that are available throughout the school year.
