The Grade 9 Visual Arts class at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts presented their RED DRESS Project installations to The Indigenous Relations Unit from the Government of Canada. Under the direction of their teacher John Zachar, each group was responsible for creating an installation based on Red Dress Day, also known as the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People, which is observed on May 5.
May 5 honours the memory of these women and girls and serves as a stark reminder of the scale of loss.
