This spring, Grade 10 and 11 Vocal students from Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts had the opportunity to participate in a professional recording session at their parish, St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church.
In this recording project, students experienced the artistic and technical demands of creating a professional recording while showcasing their musicianship skills developed in the Vocal program. Working in the beautiful acoustics of the church, students recorded three selections from their Spring Concert repertoire under the direction of CCAA Vocal teachers.
The following selections were recorded:
- Mass for 4 Voices: Kyrie - William Byrd, conducted by Alessia D'Ambrogio
- Ave Maris Stella, EG 150 - Edvard Grieg, conducted by Julia Brotto
- Short Service: VI. Magnificat - Orlando Gibbons, conducted by Joseph Simone
The Vocal Department extends its sincere gratitude to St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church for its continued support of Catholic arts education and to all those who helped make this recording project possible.
