Dress Code

All Secondary schools within the jurisdiction of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) shall adopt a Uniform Dress Code.

The School Uniform

Madonna Catholic Secondary School (MCSS) students are encouraged to review the following:

MCSS Golf Shirt (navy or white long-sleeve or short-sleeve)

  • Must be worn each day (even with the MCSS zip-polo or MCSS sweater).

McCarthy Embroidered Blue Pants / Shorts

  • Pants are not to be altered or tucked into socks.

  • McCarthy Embroidered Blue Shorts may be worn in the warmer weather in September / October and May / June.

  • Ankle socks are permitted with the uniform shorts.

Kilts

  • Must be worn with all-black dress shoes only or low-cut all-black running shoes.

  • Must be worn with navy or black knee-high socks or tights (no leggings, nylons or ankle socks).

  • Should be worn at a modest length.

Shoes

  • Must be all-black closed dress shoes or all-black closed running shoes.

  • Crocs, sandals, slippers, and open-toe shoes are not permitted as per safety protocol.

  • Boots are not allowed. Students may wear boots to school but must change into uniform shoes before going to class.

The uniform is expected to be worn all day.

No student should be changing out of uniform during lunch.

Parents are encouraged to review the local dress code at their child’s school and to direct their questions to the principal of the school.
