On February 17, 2026, MPSJ welcomed Girl Impact for an empowering workshop titled Rooted in Power and Rising in Confidence.

This group of inspiring racialized women facilitated the session, and the MPSJ Black Heritage/Black Student Association (BHE/BSA) invited racialized students from the school community to participate. The workshop was designed to uplift and support Black girls as they continue to build self-confidence and self-worth.

The event provided a safe and affirming space for students to connect, reflect, and feel supported. Guest speaker Antonica Kiala led a meaningful conversation centered on confidence, identity, and resilience. Through her personal journey and insights, she encouraged students to challenge self-doubt, embrace their authentic selves, and recognize the power they already hold. Her message inspired students to walk boldly in who they are, both in school and beyond.

More than a single event, Rooted in Power and Rising in Confidence served as an opportunity for affirmation, empowerment, and growth. The session was deeply inspiring, and MPSJ highly recommends Girl Impact to other schools within the Catholic board, as its message reflects values that strongly connect with faith in self and in God.
