The Grade 9 Pre-IB Geography classes at Michael Power - St. Joseph High School were thrilled to be invited to tour Porter Airlines operations at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. During the trip, students were given a behind-the-scenes look at airport operations, including an up-close view of Porter’s Dash 8-400 aircraft.
Pilots and maintenance staff also shared insights into how Toronto’s urban geography impacts airport operations, while highlighting how skills learned in geography can support careers in aviation. The experience provided students with a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world applications in the aviation industry.
