The Junior Boys Basketball Team at St. John Paul II Catholic Secondary School delivered a season to remember, finishing with an outstanding 9-1 regular season record. Their only loss came against St. John Henry Newman Catholic High School. Their resilience and growth throughout the season set the stage for an unforgettable playoff run. After a hard fought semifinal victory over Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School, the Panthers advanced to the Toronto District Catholic Athletic Association (TDCAA) championship game at Humber College to face Newman once again.

In a thrilling and electric atmosphere, the Panthers found themselves trailing 21 points entering the fourth quarter. What followed was a remarkable display of perseverance, teamwork, and belief. Over the final eight minutes, the Panthers went on an extraordinary 26-5 run to force overtime. Carrying that momentum forward, they secured a six-point victory to win the Junior TDCAA championship title.

In front of an electric crowd of students, staff, and alumni, the team demonstrated resilience, unity and unwavering belief. This historic comeback victory was not only a testament to the team’s skill, but to their character, discipline and commitment to one another.

We are incredibly proud of our Junior Boys and the way they represented SJPII with heart, resilience, and Panther pride.
