The Brebeuf College School community proudly congratulates our students for winning two regional Ontario Ingenious Awards. The Ingenious Award recognizes students who develop unique and innovative projects that positively impact communities. Each winning project receives a $1,000 cash prize, mentorship from leading Canadian innovators, and an invitation to an awards ceremony hosted by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario at Queen's Park, taking place on May 7, 2025 (Wednesday).

Nirek S., a Grade 10 student at Brebeuf, was recognized for developing an AI-powered smart footwear system that predicts and prevents falls by monitoring gait patterns in real time. This innovation has the potential to significantly benefit seniors and others at risk of falling due to instability while walking.

Our Brebotics robotics team was honoured for organizing and delivering six robotics workshops for seniors across the North York community. These workshops have empowered participants by reducing isolation and enhancing their sense of accomplishment, dexterity, and cognitive engagement.
