Grade 10 to 12 students from Brebeuf College School enjoyed a four-day trip to Montreal from April 29 to May 2. The focus of the trip was to increase our students' appreciation for French and Music. The trip to Montréal was nothing short of transformative as the city became a living classroom where history, culture, art and modern innovation collided. From the cobblestoned charm of Vieux-Montréal to the futuristic heights of the Olympic Stadium, students were fully immersed in a unique European atmosphere.
Starting with a jazz dinner at Le Balcon, the journey continued through the historic streets of Old Montréal, featuring visits to the Notre Dame Basilica, La Grande Roue, and a challenging adventure at SOS Labyrinth. Students learnt about our Canadian heritage at the McCord Museum and the Montréal Holocaust Museum before visiting the iconic St. Joseph's Oratory and viewing the city from Mount Royal. A cultural highlight included a traditional sugar shack feast and show at Sucrérie de la Montagne, where students experienced Québécois music and maple taffy. The trip concluded with an immersive astronomical experience at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium and a tour of the diverse ecosystems within the Biodome before returning to Toronto. Beyond the sights, the true magic was watching students bond across grade levels, sharing laughs over smoked meat sandwiches and finding inspiration in the city's artistic soul.
