The Arts
The Arts are at the heart of Loretto Abbey, offering students a vibrant and empowering space to create, perform, and lead. In our all-girls environment, the Drama, Visual Arts, and Instrumental Music programs are designed to cultivate confidence, creativity, and a strong sense of voice—both individually and collectively.
Across all arts disciplines, mentorship is central. Experienced teachers guide students while fostering peer mentorship that builds community and confidence. Through performance, exhibition, and competition, our students discover their strengths, find their voice, and learn that leadership in the arts can be both expressive and transformative.
The Arts at Loretto Abbey are more than programs—they are a platform for young people to lead, create, and inspire.
Drama
Our Drama program invites students to explore storytelling through performance, playwriting, and production. Students take the lead on and off the stage—writing scripts, directing scenes, designing sets, and bringing performances to life in school productions that showcase both talent and teamwork. Through mentorship from dedicated educators and collaboration with peers, students learn to take creative risks and lead with confidence.
Visual Arts
In Visual Arts, students develop technical skill and artistic expression while engaging critically with the world around them. Student artwork is proudly displayed throughout the school, transforming our learning spaces into places of inspiration and reflection. Through guided mentorship, students refine their artistic voice and are encouraged to curate, critique, and present their work with purpose and pride.
Instrumental Music Program
Our Instrumental Music program offers students rich performance opportunities through concerts and school events, while also earning recognition for excellence at regional and national levels, including the Ontario Band Association and MusicFest Canada Here are some of our school’s most recent achievements:
