Let's get together and feel alright!

Love, friendship, laughter is what Allan Griffith and his Black Students Association (BSA) at Madonna Catholic Secondary School envisioned when they came up with the idea of renting out the Yorkdale theatre and inviting other BSA schools to watch the new Bob Marley film "One Love" for Black History Month.

That idea of sharing and celebrating together spread from being the brain child of one man, to several schools in the west (James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School, Brebeuf College School, Monsignor Percy Johnson Catholic Secondary School and St. Basil-the-Great College School) being invited to partake.

That simple invite soon spread to the east part of the city, as they began to coordinate how to do the same excursion. This outing was like breaking bread: 150 staff and students of all colours coming together to share in the story behind the music known around the world.

This event went off more like a board initiative, as those in attendance wanted to celebrate the life, words and life of the late great Bob Marley. The students left encouraged to find and use their own talents to make a difference in the world.

Thank you to all the board staff and students for truly sharing One Heart, One Love!
