Over the course of December 1-5, Madonna Catholic Secondary School's Leadership students raised awareness on Gender Equity and Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Every year, Madonna students recognize International Day For The Elimination of Violence Against Women as part of the 16 Days of Action that culminates on International Human Rights Day on December 10.

Through student created announcements, stickers, posters, a pledge wall, and photo booth, students and staff learned about the issue of violence against women, gender inequality, and allyship.

The focus for this year's campaign is on digital online violence as there has been a dramatic increase in how online tools are being used to harass, stalk, and abuse women and girls. The students created awareness of these dangers as well as ways to protect themselves online and where they can go for help.
