Year 2 - Growing In Knowledge with Justice

As we enter the second year of our Pastoral Plan, we continue to reflect God’s image, honouring and respecting everyone with a deep commitment to justice.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” - John 15.12

As those created in God’s image, we are called to advocate for and work toward justice, equity, and inclusion. This commitment calls us to create a world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Acting with justice is a fundamental component of Catholic social teaching and plays a vital role in the Church’s engagement with the world.

We are called to nurture communities with love, openness, and support, being mindful of poverty, inequality, discrimination, and the protection of everyone’s human rights.

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

   Micah 6:8

This passage from the Prophet Micah calls us to live lives of compassion, fairness, humility, and righteousness, treating others with equity and upholding justice each day.

Therefore, being made in God’s image is not merely a personal privilege but a mission: we must bear witness to the Gospel by speaking out for the oppressed, protecting human life, and working for a world where every person can fully realize the gifts of the Imago Dei. We are called to fulfill our baptismal call to love God and neighbor, honouring the image of God in every human being.
