The Junior and Senior Concert Bands from Senator O'Connor College School performed at the Ontario Band Association Music Festival (OBA) on February 10, with over 90 students taking part in the event. Under the direction of Mr. Stephen Griffiths, both ensembles have been preparing their music since September and delivered outstanding performances.
This year marked the first year of the Junior Concert Band, making their achievement especially exciting! The band earned a Silver rating and an invitation to Nationals. The Senior Concert Band also had an excellent result, receiving a Silver Plus rating and an invitation to Nationals as well.
Both groups had the opportunity to participate in workshops with renowned conductors, and students also enjoyed watching performances from other schools. Overall, the event was a huge success and a proud moment for the Senator O'Connor music program.
