Three Senator O’Connor College School students have graduated from the Toronto Police Service’s Youth in Policing Initiative program (YIPI), marking the completion of an experience they say will help prepare them for their final year of high school.
Joshua G., Mikhai S. and Joshua O. each received certificates of recognition for their participation in the program. Joshua G. and Mikhai S. were also presented with awards from Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw in recognition of their accomplishments. The students said they are proud of what they achieved through the initiative and the experiences they gained during the program.
The Youth in Policing Initiative provides young people with opportunities to gain workplace experience while developing skills and learning more about community service and policing.
The three students plan to carry the knowledge and experience gained through the program into their final year of high school, which begins in September 2026. Their graduation from the initiative marks an accomplishment they can build on as they prepare for the next stage of their education and future careers.
