The team won the Toronto District Catholic Athletic Association (TDCAA) Tier 1 Championship for the third year in a row and the 14th time in school history. They were also ranked #1 in the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Regional for the third consecutive year. The team showed great character and determination as they battled through multiple obstacles.
For the first time ever, the Baseball team had to travel to Windsor for OFSAA. On the first day, they won decisively—18-7 and 11-4—to advance to the Semi-Finals. Unfortunately, on day two and day three, heavy rain prevented any games from being played. There was even a tornado warning issued that day.
With five teams still competing for the OFSAA Gold Medal, the team had to travel to London to face their rivals from St. Anne (Windsor). After four scoreless innings, St. Anne scored a run in the fifth and eventually won 3-0. The team then played UCC for the final medal spot. After trailing 4-0, they rallied to go up 6-4, then fell behind 7-6, tying the game at 7-7 after seven innings. Once again, rain delayed the game, and the team had to travel again the next day to complete it. After two extra innings, UCC walked it off with a close play at the plate. It was an incredible game, and Coach Rebelo was extremely proud of the effort—especially with three starters missing.
This marks the eighth time in the last ten seasons that our Boys Baseball team has finished in the Top 5 in the province—an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved in the program.
A special thank-you goes out to our 10 graduating players for four amazing years: Steven, Nolan, Jayden, Zach, Aaron, Luke, Lucas, Noah, Leo, and Gavin.
Mr. Rebelo would also like to thank the players for their dedication, the parents for their support with rides, food, and communication, Mr. Minichiello for his support with the team, all the teachers for their flexibility and encouragement, and the admin and support staff for all the behind-the-scenes efforts.
We are excited to host OFSAA Baseball in 2026 and look forward to continuing the success of our baseball program.
