Bishop Allen Academy students had a wonderful opportunity to engage with history in a meaningful way through the Honouring Indigenous Aid Banner Exhibit, a travelling installation prepared by the Indigenous Education Department and hosted in the BA library. This powerful interactive exhibit sheds light on the remarkable generosity of First Nations communities who, despite facing immense challenges of their own, offered aid and solidarity to the Irish people during the Famine of 1847. Students—led by Ms. Lains, Ms. Nazareth, Ms. Valentim, Ms. Henderson, Ms. Mc Millen and Ms. Dairone—were invited to reflect on compassion, connection, and shared humanity across cultures and histories.
This was a thoughtful and inspiring learning experience for all the students involved!
