The Grade 10 French Immersion students in Mme Leopold’s classes at Bishop Allen Academy marked Orange Shirt Day through a meaningful two day learning experience.

Students honoured Indigenous children and reflected on the lasting impact of the residential school system by reading Indigenous legends and stories. Through thoughtful discussions and analysis, they explored the themes, symbols and important life lessons conveyed through these narratives.

The experience helped students deepen their understanding of Indigenous perspectives, appreciate the richness of Indigenous storytelling traditions and strengthen their commitment to the ongoing journey of truth and reconciliation.
