On Thursday, November 6, music students from Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School were treated to an unforgettable performance and masterclass by the Live Video Game Orchestra (LVGO). This dynamic ensemble has quickly risen to prominence as one of Canada’s premier groups dedicated to performing music exclusively from video games.
The LVGO opened with an exciting set featuring music from Pokémon, filling the room with energy and nostalgia. They were later joined by the Redmond Jazz Orchestra for a collaborative performance that showcased the talents of both groups.
The morning concluded with small-group, instrument-specific masterclasses, where students received personalized feedback and insight from professional musicians. The LVGO members also shared valuable advice about studying and working in the music industry. Students left the event inspired, motivated, and eager to continue their own musical journeys.
