Congratulations to the FJR Debate Team on their outstanding performance at the Ontario ProCon Debating Forum on Saturday, February 28. Our Novice team Tyler, Katarina (Kat), Sofiia, and Julia, all new to debating, competed for their very first time and came in 3rd overall as a team! In the Novice division, as individual debaters, Tyler tied for 1st place overall, and Kat placed in 3rd. Our Junior team, Caleb, Cole, Olivia, and Jack, who stepped in as an emergency substitute, showed exceptional resilience, adaptability and teamwork. In the Junior division, Caleb came in 2nd overall as an individual competitor!
We are so proud of those who competed, and all of the students in the club who helped the team prepare prior to the competition. Thank you to our moderators Ms. Patterson and Ms. Dingeldein!
