Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School students partnered with the registered charity Paws and Boots for Good to help train family pets as therapy dogs for the community. Students volunteered four hours a week for several months to train the dogs through a structured program led by the Paws and Boots for Good team. Students learned valuable transferable skills and contributed meaningfully to the community by training dogs that will be of great comfort and support in a variety of settings. The final showcase, held at The Power House Recreation Centre on Tuesday, March 31, was a joyful celebration of a wonderful initiative that we hope will continue and expand in the coming years.
