To commemorate Red Dress Day on May 5 and to honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people, Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School, in collaboration with the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) Indigenous Education, Equity, and Community Relations Department, hosted a powerful and engaging presentation and display.
The event featured a range of guest speakers, performers, and artists who contributed to a meaningful and impactful experience for students and staff. Participants included members of the Ontario School of Ballet, Dance Director Tara Roberts, choreographer Madison Noon, Knowledge Keeper Diane Montreuil, keynote speaker Sarah Lewis, drummer Nathan Roy, and Jingle Dress dancer Cedar Smoke. Their contributions, along with stunning artwork, helped bring awareness and foster deeper understanding within the school community.
A special thank you to Ms. Delle Monache for leading this initiative, and to the Father John Redmond students whose efforts helped make the event possible. Their dedication created a truly meaningful experience for all involved.
